Paw Patrol Platformer

Paw Patrol Platformer

Claude CodeGaming

A Paw Patrol-themed 2D browser platformer I built as a birthday present for my son Waylon. Three stages, boss fights, collectibles, a global leaderboard, and custom chiptune sound design. Went from zero coding experience to a fully deployed, mobile-responsive game in about 7 days using Claude Code and the Compound Engineering workflow. Shipped it live at his birthday party with QR code posters+flyers so kids could play at the tail end of the party and "take it home" as a party favor.

The Challenge

I wanted to make something personal for my son's birthday, and this was the perfect opportunity as I was preparing for the "Build a Production Ready App" class through Every.to. I had about a week, no game development experience, and a 4-year-old with very specific opinions about Paw Patrol.

The Outcome

A fully playable, deployed browser game with three stages, boss battles, a global leaderboard, mobile touch controls, and custom 8-bit sound design. Kids played it live at the birthday party on their phones via QR code posters. My siblings jumped in as testers and collaborators on sound design and boss mechanics. The whole thing taught me more about shipping a product in a week than most courses cover in a month.
